Scottish Winter Climbing Meet 2nd - 3rd Feb 2013

This winter Fort William was proud to host the inaugural Scottish Winter climbing meet.

This weekend meet  was organised by local guides and instructors with the support of the Mountaineering Council of Scotland which is helping to promote the event.

It was a celebration weekend of Scottish Winter climbing and gives climbers a chance to meet, chat and climb together on an informal basis. It is hoped that this will become an annual event being held at different locations each year throughout Scotland.

The weekend was open to all, whether you climbed grade 'wee' or grade 'ridiculous'. 

We had fifty folk turn up for the weekend. Some great routes were climbed and Simon Richardson gave an inspirational talk on the Saturday night.

It is hoped that we will run the meet at a different location next year, perhaps Torridon. Watch this space.
