Scottish Winter Climbing Meet 14th - 16th Feb 2014
Last winter Fort William was proud to host the inaugural Scottish Winter climbing meet.
This weekend meet was organised by local guides and instructors with the support of the Mountaineering Council of Scotland which is helped to promote the event.
It was a celebration weekend of Scottish Winter climbing and gives climbers a chance to meet, chat and climb together on an informal basis. It is hoped that this will become an annual event being held at different locations each year throughout Scotland.
We had fifty folk turn up for the weekend. Some great routes were climbed and Simon Richardson gave an inspirational talk on the Saturday night.
NOW..FOR THIS WINTER..
This coming winter the Scottish Winter Climbing meet will be held at Torridon in February. The Scottish Youth Hostel in Torridon will be the venue and also provide accomodation.
As per last year, the weekend is open to all, whether you climbed grade 'wee' or grade 'ridiculous'.
